Cerritos College Foundation Proudly Presents Two $5,000 Transfer Scholarships from SoCalGas

SoCalGas, a Sempra Utility Company is offering Community Relations Scholarships to Cerritos College students who are transferring to a four-year college or university in fall 2020.

SoCalGas believes that a well-educated workforce makes good business sense and is essential for a vital and economically healthy Southern California. "We are excited to provide these scholarships to qualified students from Cerritos College and look forward to helping deserving students achieve their higher education goals," said Julia Emerson, public relations manager of SoCalGas. Emerson, a Cerritos College alumna, served as Student Body Vice President and then mascot Freda Falcon.

Scholarship Requirements and Eligibility

Graduating students should apply online by logging into Award Spring. The special application period begins at 9 a.m. on May 1 and closes at 11:59 pm on May 15, 2020. Awardees will be announced in the first week of June.

• Full-time enrollment at transfer institution for fall 2020
• Overall GPA of 3.0+
• Proof of acceptance and before award received proof of enrollment at the transfer institution
• Demonstration of strong community involvement
• Demonstration of financial need
• Available to science, technology, engineering, math, accounting, and business students
• One reference from Cerritos College faculty or staff, an organization where student volunteers, or a current or past employer

Children and dependents of elected or appointed local, county, and state officials are not eligible. Likewise, children or dependents of SoCalGas or any other Sempra Energy company are not eligible.
