SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION INFO FOR FALL 2021
Any currently enrolled Cerritos College student can apply for a scholarship. We provide funding for a variety of programs, for students of all ages, and for varied backgrounds.

Here is a downloadable pdf of the scholarships currently available: Fall 2021 Scholarships.

1. APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIPS ONLINE — Set up an account on AwardSpring to complete your scholarship application, submit your transcripts, and request your letters of recommendation.

The online application period for Fall 2021 is:
August 16 - October 7, 2021

The application requires a personal statement of 400-600 words, and we ask that you request 2 letters of recommendation. Once you have completed and submitted the online application, you will be able to see which scholarships you have qualified for (meaning you met the minimum qualifications). You don't have to complete the application all at once - you can set up an account, review all the questions, gather your answers, and then log back in as often as you'd like to continue refining your application right up to the deadline, even after you've clicked the "Submit" button.

After the application deadline, our Foundation Scholarship Selection Committees will review the applications of all students who met the minimum eligibility qualifications to determine the recipients. Students are typically notified in late November if they are selected for a scholarship.

The Cerritos College Re-Entry Resource Program sponsors scholarship application workshops and drop-in assistance labs. If this is your first time applying for scholarships, or if you have questions about how to complete any sections, consider signing up for a workshop or lab.

Upcoming Scholarship Application Drop-in Labs:
Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2 - 3 pm. Register here: Lab Registration Link - Zoom
Tuesday, Sept. 28, 11 am - Noon. Register here:

2. Complete the FAFSA or CA Dream Act Application While not required to apply for a scholarship through the Foundation, we highly recommend that you complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or CA Dream Act Application to maximize your access to financial assistance. The annual FAFSA application is available on October 1. The application period extends to March, but we strongly encourage you to complete it early every year.

What is the FAFSA? The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is a form that can be prepared annually by current and prospective college students (undergraduate and graduate) in the United States to determine their eligibility for student financial aid.
